10 habits of skinny people

When I say skinny, I mean at  a healthy body weight.  I’m not giving you habits of anorexic people.  These are 10 habits of skinny, healthy people aka secrets to weight loss.  Shhh, keep this between you, me and everybody else.

1. They wake up early.  Healthy people have a normal sleep schedule.  They go to bed early and they wake up earlier than most people, feeling refreshed.  Skinny people also know that waking up early gives you more time to be active during the day.

2. They exercise early.  When I say early, I mean before dinner time.  Exercising in the morning, before or after breakfast, is best because it boosts your metabolism and skinny people know this all to well.

3. They stay positive.  Healthy people have a positive outlook on life.  They know that seeing life in a positive way motivates them to stay healthy and live longer.

4. They eat vegetables.  Skinny people stay skinny by eating vitamin rich, low calorie vegetables as meals, as snacks and everyday.  They also know that green vegetables are the best, full of vitamins, nutrients and immune boosting magic.

5. They set goals.  Healthy people always strive to better themselves and to do this, they set goals.  Their goals are both short term an long term.  When they meet a certain goal, they set a new one.

6. They learn.  Skinny people are constantly learning about nutrition and fitness.  They educate themselves on the best way to be healthy.  Constant learning strengthens the body and not just the mind.

7. They have hobbies.  Whether it’s blogging (my personal hobby) or volunteering to coach little league, healthy people stay busy.  Hobbies help them do this tremendously.

8. They meditate.  I meditate.  I wish I knew the benefits of meditation 10 years ago.  Healthy people control their thoughts and not vice versa.  This is easily achieved by meditation.

9. They stretch.  Stretching everyday is so good for you in more ways than one.  Healthy people keep their muscles strong, their bodies limber and the fat off easily by stretching multiple times a day.

10. They say no.  And they aren’t hesitant about it.  Healthy people know when to say no to fatty foods, risky behaviors and unhealthy activities.   Sometimes saying “no” is a good thing.

Good tips, being healthy is definitely a lifestyle. Now how about all those people who have the skinny gene and do the opposite of all this and still stay skinny! LOL

This is a load of bull if I’ve ever seen it. I’m naturally skinny due to a high metabolism. The only time I’ve ever exercised was my thumbs on a gamepad. This is a stereotype and whoever wrote this article obviously hangs out with people who feel so good about how skinny they are that they don’t see the world around them. Please stop stereotyping.

I incorporated all of that into my husbands lifestyle when he was losing weight, he lost over 50 pounds and was in the best attitude of his life!

Great tips! I just have to work out much earlier and then I should be okay! I tend to workout at like 10pm!

Well, I love veggies and I definitely say no…but I don’t meditate or get up early, lol.

Did you know that sleeping a lot helps you lose weight? Probably because when you are sleeping, you aren’t eating :)

This is a great post! Lots of new things for me to try.

Sleeping also helps you loose weight because of the way you breath when sleeping. You burn more calories sleeping than you do sitting on the couch watching tv.!!

Decent tips–but I really think skinny people just don’t use food for emotional purposes like many of us compulsive over-eaters do.

Cool tips, especially the one about the meditation. I think if you want to look good and healthy you should be healthy inside, too. That part is also important.

I don’t agree. Some people are JUST skinny. That’s just the way they are lol. I’m a size zero, I don’t get up early, RARELY exercise, and eat WAYY too much food. & not healthy food either– I swear i’f I’m hungry enough I can eat a small pizza to myself no problem! I couldn’t gain weight if I wanted to.Maybe I still have good metabolism because I’m young, but I have been the same size since 9th grade and I’m turning 21 now. I’m only 5’1 and very petite and small-boned, I think I was just made to be skinny. lol

I agree with alissa hall. Me and my wife do eat right. But we’ve been very thin all our lives, we’re in our fifties. She is an early riser, I’m a late riser. She’s 5’4″, weighs about 102 pounds. I’m 6’0″ and weigh around 142. We wear the same size now as when we were in our early 20s.

It can have to do with these lifestyle habits as it is stated in the article, but some people are just skinny. If you eat breakfast it will in fact super-charge your metabolism and of course lots of exercise will too.

Well, because I am a (newly…well…1 year in) skinny person with 2 kids and full time job, I have learned to exercise when I can…which is after dinner! It works for me, I lost almost 50lbs over a year ago, and have kept it all off! I really think “Skinny people exercise early” should be “skinny people exercise when is the best time for them to do it constantly, because then they can keep doing it”. If I only exercised before dinner…my 6 times a week work-outs would be down to 2 times a week (weekends)! My gym is full of skinny people working out after dinner.

i agree with alissa. some people are JUST skinny. im 5’11” and 125 lbs. can’t gain a pound. i swim, very occasionly, i eat, i cook. some guys love my body type, some don’t. i don’t care. but i cant stand the standards that are set for women to strive to be in a body type that is not their own. we are who we are. i have known a group of women for years that run almost every morning in their matching running outfits, and then complain that they can’t lose weight. where is the problem?.. either they go home and eat too much, or they are not meant to be below what their weight currently is. i wish we could all accept our own bodies as our OWN and be comfortable living in them. life is alot easier when we let other peoples opinions stop mattering so much.

Ummm.. I’m super skinny (not anorexic) but I dont do any off that.. My sleeping is screwed up… I eat more fast food than veggies.. I hate the idea of working out. My idea of of hobby is reading.. I eat anything I want… Soooooo yeah..

I’m a skinny lady, size 0, still at 35 years of age. I don’t get up early, or exercise early, I don’t meditate, but I pretty much do all the other things in the article. I do exercise regularly, sleep a lot (like some other commenter mentioned), I eat a lot of vegetables, I don’t eat red meat, I eat when I’m hungry, but stop when I’m full. While I think there are a lot of genetic factors involved in my appearance I feel that leading an overall healthy, active, busy lifestyle contributes to why I look the way I do. The most important part is not that I’m skinny though, it’s that I’m a very healthy person who is also physically very strong for my small stature. (I’ve beaten women way larger than me at arm wrestling! haha)

Im skinny, and have appetite for pizzas and salads. Dont do anything mentioned in article, But i love sex and masturbate constantly. I think Im skinny because of that. When i broke my arm and Couldnt do it for a month i started putting on weight.
