Losing weight is all about consuming less calories and burning more calories. Luckily, there are easy ways to cut calories.

- Order ham on your pizza instead of pepperoni to cut 50 calories per slice.
- Drink a glass of water with lemon instead of soda.
- Eat Kale Chips or Baked chips instead of regular chips.
- Eat at the table with no distractions so you will eat less.
- Drink water before every meal to fill up faster.
- Switch from whole milk to skim or 1% milk.
- Eat a sandwich on whole grain with low-fat cheese or no cheese at all.
- Eat a piece of fruit instead of drinking fruit juice.
- Switch to a light mayonnaise and reduce 50 calories.
- Switch from beer to wine and drink your wine in a champagne flute to consume less.
- Use a stevia extract to substitute sugar. Stevia has zero calories and tastes great in coffee and tea.
- Don’t eat the skin on your meat. Most of the fat is in and around the skin.
- Always eat lean cuts of meat compared to the fatty cuts. Switch a chicken leg for a chicken breast.
- Eat grilled or baked meats and veggies instead of fried.
- Season your food with herbs instead of butter or oil.
- Eat your salad with light or no dressing.
- Switch to a high fiber, low sugar cereal and sweeten it with Stevia extract.
- Stop going to buffets. ’nuff said.
- Drink green tea instead of regular. Green tea helps boost your metabolism.
- Use a smaller plate. Less room equals less calories.
- Eat whole grain pasta with lots of veggies instead of white pasta with meat.
- Read the food labels and stay aware of how many calories are in your food.
- Eat slow. Your body will start to fill full sooner.
- Use mustard instead of ketchup. Mustard has almost no calories whereas ketchup has many.
- Order a kid’s meal if you must eat out.
- Order flatbread pizza or sandwich instead of original or white.
- Visit a Health Fair for plates and utensils that will help you eat less. They have portion control plates and food weights to help you cut down on calories.

I have done some of these before. Like ordering the kids size meal. At McDonald’s I will order a happy meal instead of an adult meal and it really does save a ton of calories. I always want to try Kale chips, but can’t bring myself to do it.

Great tips! I have about 40 lbs that I’ve been trying to lose for like 10 years. I have no excuses other than I love to eat….gonna have to try to find another hobby, I guess lol.
