A scale is very important when tracking your weight loss but a tape measure is too!
I recommend weighing yourself once a week in all my articles. If you weigh yourself everday, you will get discouraged. BUT, you could get discouraged if you only weigh yourself every week and see no results between weeks. That’s where the tape measure comes in handy!
Measure yourself! Measure your upper arms, neck, bust, waist, hips, butt and thighs. Track these measurements in your journal with your weight. When you don’t see results on the scale it could be because of a number of things, one being the gain of muscle. When you measure yourself, you see the results that were not on the scale!
Tape measures are very cheap and can be found everywhere. Do not buy one of those tool type tape measures that are used to measure wood, walls, etc. You can buy those specifically for weight loss or those for measuring fabric. I have recommendations from Amazon below so you can see the kind I’m speaking of. You don’t have to buy the exact kind but it’s helpful to see examples.
