It is possible to lose 50 lbs in 3 months safely.  You must be 50 lbs or more overweight, cleared by your doctor and able to exercise physically.  If you really want to know how to lose 50 lbs in 3 months, the keys are simple.

Meal Plan

You need to be able to change the way you view food to lose 50 pounds in 3 months.  Food should only be used to fuel your body and not used to soothe yourself or for any other comfort reasons.  Use this meal plan to help you lose 50 lbs in 3 months and to show you that food is not the answer to everything.

For your beverages, drink water and lots of it.  Water is imperative to lose 50 lbs in 3 months.  Add fresh fruit like a lemon or lime slice for flavor.  If you must, limit yourself to one cup (8 oz) of coffee or juice a day and try to only consume it in the morning.

weight loss shake recipesFor 5 days a week, replace 2 meals with a weight loss shake that is high in protein and fiber.  I recommend making your own.  Read my weight loss shake recipes. It’s cheaper and you can make them more filling whereas the ones you buy may not cut it.

For your other meal those 5 days, eat a piece of lean meat and as many vegetables as you like. You can have a piece of fruit with your meal as well.  Limit yourself to only 1 slice of whole grain bread a day.  Avoid potatoes, pasta, cereal and high carb, starchy foods.  A meal idea for breakfast could by 2 slices of turkey bacon, 2 scrambled eggs (cooked using spray butter) and an orange.  A meal idea for lunch or dinner could be grilled chicken breast, salad with light dressing (low carb) and cooked spinach.  Mix it up so you don’t become bored.

 

For the other 2 days of the week, have only 1 weight loss shake to replace a meal.  For your other meals, follow the directions above.  Remember, don’t eat the same things everyday.  You will get bored and you won’t be able to lose 50 lbs in 3 months if you go off your plan.  You can do this.  Keep telling yourself this.

For snacks in between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner, have fruit, raw vegetables, 100 calorie packs of snacks, nuts like pistachios or almonds, popcorn or anything low in calories and low carb. Foods high in fiber like fruit or VitaTops are best because they keep you feeling full longer.

Exercise

You can just diet and expect to lose 50 lbs in 3 months.  You will lose weight by just dieting but if you only sit around, it won’t be much.  Stay motivated and you will reach your goal.  Make exercise fun and it will be much easier and something you can make a part of your daily routine.  Exercising is also good for your mood, varicose veins, and has tons of other benefits.

First off, whenever you exercise, listen to music.  Listen to good music that you like and makes you want to move.  For me, it’s just about anything because I love to dance.  Everyone is different.  Crank up the tunes and start moving.

For 3 days a week, do 45 minutes of cardio whether it be aerobics, walking at a fast pace, jogging, fast dancing, a sports game on your video system (one that you have to use your body as a controller, not while sitting!), intense cleaning, anything that gets you up and moving!  And, AGAIN, mix it up.  One day do some dancing, the next day do some step aerobics, and so on.  Keep your body doing something different, working different muscles and keep your mind from getting bored.

For 3 days a week, on different days than the cardio, do some strength training.  Strength training is anything that works a certain group of muscles.  Do 45 minutes of strength training which equals out to (3) 3 sets of 10 of different exercises.  Work a muscle group a day for the 3 days.  One day, work your abs, the next your legs, the next your arms, etc.  Visit strength training exercises for ideas on what exercises to do.

One day 7, rest.  If you are extremely sore on one of the days, you can skip that day to rest your muscles and heal. But don’t take advantage of that. Once you get out of the routine, it will be hard to get back in.  Make exercising a routine. It is a must to lose 50 lbs in 3 months.

the slimfast does work too….in going to try this but i can’t get to a gym so will more then likely be getting tredmill it something convenient for the home
