Sorry folks, I skipped a week with my weigh-in post and I do apologize! Busy season at work (shipping poinsettias) has just kicked in and we have been working long hours the past couple of weeks. I work at a huge greenhouse in Huntersville N.C. called Metrolina Greenhouses, and boy have we been working!
I am happy to announce, considering the past couple of weeks of work AND the holidays, that I have lost a total of 17lbs. I was glad to see this as I was running around like a crazy person the past few days. I guess all the running around gave me more physical activity, and less time to eat lol.
As of now, my days at work consist of watering all the plants in my section ( I’m an assistant grower) and then shipping poinsettias. Bending, picking up, hatting, sleeving, and loading them on carts. I also have to clean up the mess when we are finished shipping in that section. It is a tad hectic this time of year at the greenhouse, but I’m just glad they are going out! If you are at a Walmart or a Lowe’s Home Improvement (closer to the east coast) looking at poinsettias, look for our Metrolina logo on the colorful paper around them, called hats.

Poinsettia tip: These colorful holiday plants come in a wide variety of colors and all the color on them is not the actual “flower” it is the leaves that turn colors when in season, and they are called the bracts!
